Our Work

United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive.

For more than years, United Way of Freeborn County has partnered with local communities to create solutions to people’s most pressing challenges.  We take a comprehensive approach, listening and responding to local needs.

With our community partners, United Way of Freeborn County creates pathways to better lives.  Each year, the Welcome Pantry distributes more than 300,000 pounds of food to over 6,300 households.  The Winter Gear Drive provided warm winter coats and gear to 222 families over the last two years. Through our partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, over 200 kids in Freeborn County receive an age-appropriate book delivered right to their home each month.

As part of a global network of more than 1,000 United Ways, we help to share innovations and scale impact to improve lives around the world.  Together, we’re working towards a future where every person and community can rise.

From strengthening local resilience to advancing health, youth opportunity, and financial security, we’re working towards a future where every person in every community can reach their full potential.
