Recently, I spoke at an event where I shared data showing that in May the Welcome Pantry had 69 new shoppers. For us, this was an indicator that we needed to reassess our appointment system, wondering if these shoppers had faced significant barriers to accessing our pantry prior to reducing to one visit a month. Our mayor had another question though. He asked, “How do we get here? How do we get these 69 people so they don’t have to use the pantry in the first place?”
